Current status and Best Practices for Disaster Loss Data recording in EU Member States
LOSS DATABASE SURVEY
Recognizing common basis in methodologies of recording loss data and technical specifications as well as understanding needs of future application fields we will be able to effectively identify areas that need standardization.
The purpose of this survey is to describe in details the methodology of loss databases within EU Member States. The answers to the survey forms received until now by 15 Member States were compiled and compared. The resuls of the comparative analysis were published in November 2014 as part of the JRC report on: "Current status and Best Practices for Disaster Loss Data recording in EU Member States, November 2014".
Newly joined Member States are encouraged to return a compiled survey form (by the end of November) and share summary data in a prescribed format: With reference to the summary statistics presented in the JRC report on page 54, experts from newly joined Member States are requested to compile the following data as an example:
